Thank you for your support, we will need your continued support in the coming weeks and months

Planning Meeting!

Planning Permision Refused!

You may have heard that the planning application for the DEW project was refused by the DMBC planning committee on November the third. The reason being that the proposed development was too close to residential property. A big thank you must go to all those people that gave up their afternoon to object to the application at the planning meeting, some 70 in all!

The campaign does not stop here though. We must prepare ourselves for a possible appeal.

Public Consultation Meeting Announced

Barnsley Doncaster & Rotherham Joint Strategic Waste consultation is coming to Dunsville Community Centre!
On Friday 4th September there will be a public consultation meeting at Dunsville Community Centre to discuss the suitability of Hatfield Power Park as a waste management site as part of the DPD process. There will be a display from 2pm until 5pm and then a presentation from 6pm until 8 pm with questions and answers. We have already registered our intention to attend and ask questions. The only problem is that the venue is very small and in the councils words “places will be very limited”. We would encourage anyone who can call in and express an opinion to do so to ensure that the consultation represents the true feelings of the community.

Many thanks to those of you who attended the above meeting.

We as a group expressed concerns about the time of the meeting, 6pm on a Friday evening and suggested that it maybe was responsible for the small number of people who were able to attend.

We offered to arrange and publicise another public consultation meeting at the Council Officers convieniance in an effort to ensure that everyone had the opportunity to express their feelings and also understand the Barnsley, Rotherham & Doncaster Strategic Waste Plan but sadly this offer has been declined.
